ABSTRACT
Objetivo: hacer el análisis crítico a un control de foco realizado a un paciente de edad pediátrica con tuberculosis pulmonar, seleccionado aleatoriamente en un municipio de la provincia Ciudad de La Habana en el año 2005. Desarrollo: se revisó la documentación generada y disponible del caso en cuestión, y se entrevistaron diferentes autoridades del área de salud, vinculados al Programa de Control y Prevención para la tuberculosis, que constituye una herramienta técnico-metodológica para el control y prevención de esta enfermedad en el país. Conclusiones: se encontraron deficiencias relacionadas con el cumplimiento del programa, como en el diagnóstico de los casos en el área de salud, la localización e investigación de todos los contactos y en la vigilancia por el equipo de salud para el cumplimiento del tratamiento.
Objetive: to make a critical analysis of a focus control carried out in a patient at pediatric age with pulmonary tuberculosis that was selected at random in a municipality of Havana City province, in 2005. Development: the generated and available documentation was reviewed, and different authorities of the health area linked to the Tuberculosis Control and Prevention Program, which is a technical and methodological tool for the control and prevention of this disease in the country, were interviewed. Conclusions: some deficiencies related to the accomplishment of the program were found in the diagnosis of the cases in the health area, in the localization and investigation of all the contacts, and in the surveillance of the fulfilment of the treatment by the health team.
